LinkedIn’s Services feature can help eligible organisations make it easier for prospective clients to understand what they offer and make an enquiry.
For many small and mid-sized organisations, particularly professional services firms, specialist providers, training businesses, agencies and service-based businesses, this can be a useful addition to a broader LinkedIn presence.
It is not a replacement for a clear Company Page, a strong website or thoughtful content. But it can provide another practical pathway for people who discover your organisation on LinkedIn and want to explore whether your services may be relevant to them.
What is LinkedIn’s Services feature?
LinkedIn Services creates a dedicated service listing connected to your LinkedIn Company Page or personal profile. It allows you to select the services you offer, add a short description and receive service enquiries through LinkedIn’s request-and-proposal process.
For organisations, the feature is managed through the Company Page. It is designed to help potential clients find service providers and make contact without needing to leave LinkedIn. LinkedIn currently allows eligible Company Pages with 500 employees or fewer to offer services. It is not available for Showcase Pages or University Pages.
Is this feature right for your organisation?
The Services feature is most useful where your organisation sells a defined professional or business service and wants to make that offer easier to find. It may be worth considering for organisations that provide:
- professional advisory or consulting services
- recruitment, training or coaching
- legal, financial or specialist business services
- marketing, communications or creative services
- technology, data or implementation support
- facilitation, education or capability-building programs
- specialist community, health or not-for-profit services.
It is less useful where your work is highly complex, bespoke or relationship-led and cannot be meaningfully represented through LinkedIn’s set list of service categories. In those cases, a clear Company Page, a well-structured website and visible subject-matter experts may be more valuable than trying to force a nuanced offer into a short service listing.
Use the feature as part of a wider growth plan
The Services feature works best when it supports a wider business-development and visibility strategy. Before adding services, be clear about:
- which services you most want to grow
- the types of organisations or decision-makers you want to reach
- the problems those clients are trying to solve
- the language they may use when searching for support
- who in your organisation will respond to enquiries
- what should happen after someone makes contact.
A service listing can create an opening. Your organisation still needs a clear process for responding, qualifying enquiries and moving appropriate opportunities into conversation.
Choose services carefully
LinkedIn provides a predefined list of service categories. You can choose up to 10 services, so it is worth being selective. Choose the services that are:
- central to your current business strategy
- easy for a prospective client to recognise
- aligned with the language your audience is likely to use
- supported by genuine experience and capability
- commercially meaningful for your organisation.
Avoid selecting every option that could loosely apply. A focused list is more useful than a broad one. Your goal is not to describe every possible thing your organisation can do. It is to help the right people quickly understand where you may be able to help.
Write a clear description
The Services feature includes a short description area. Use this space to explain the outcomes your organisation helps clients achieve, rather than simply repeating a list of offerings. A clear description might answer:
- Who do you help?
- What challenges do you help them address?
- What type of support do you provide?
- What makes your approach credible or distinctive?
Keep the language plain. Avoid internal terminology, vague claims or long lists of capabilities. The strongest descriptions sound like they were written for a prospective client, not copied from an internal capability statement.
How to add services to your LinkedIn Company Page
To add services, you need to be a super admin of the Company Page.
- Go to your LinkedIn Company Page in super admin view.
- Select Create in the upper-left corner.
- Choose Add services.
- Review LinkedIn’s information about how services work.
- Select the service categories that best reflect your organisation’s offer.
- Add your location and service availability.
- Write a concise description of your services.
- Review the information and select Save or Publish.
LinkedIn’s wording and menu placement may change over time, but the Services option is managed through the Company Page’s admin tools.
Decide who will manage enquiries
A Services listing is only helpful if enquiries are handled well. Decide in advance who will receive and respond to requests. This may be a business-development lead, marketing or communications contact, practice leader, founder or client-services team.
Agree on:
- expected response times
- which enquiries are a good fit
- what information is needed before a conversation
- how enquiries will be recorded and followed up
- when an enquiry should be referred to another person internally.
LinkedIn allows service providers to manage enquiries through a central services admin view.
Reviews and service credibility
LinkedIn also allows reviews for services offered through an individual profile. Clients can be invited to review services after a project is completed or through an invitation from the provider. At present, service reviews are not available for services offered through a Company Page.
That makes it especially important for organisations to build trust in other ways: a clear Company Page, relevant case studies, visible leaders, useful content and a website that demonstrates the depth of your work.
Review and refine over time
Your service listing should not be set up once and forgotten. Review it whenever your organisation changes its priorities, introduces a new offer, enters a new market or refines its positioning.
Check that:
- your selected services still reflect what you want to grow
- the description remains clear and current
- the right people are managing enquiries
- the listing supports, rather than duplicates, your website and Company Page
- your response process is working.
Make it easy for the right people to take the next step
The best LinkedIn Company Pages help people understand three things quickly:
- what your organisation does
- why it matters
- what they can do next.
The Services feature can support that final step. Used thoughtfully, it gives potential clients a simple route from interest to enquiry, while allowing your organisation’s wider LinkedIn presence to do the deeper work of building credibility, familiarity and trust.
